Terms & conditions.
What you can expect from us when you bring in a watch, buy or sell a piece, or use this website, and what we ask of you in return.

About these terms
These terms apply when you use this website or the services of The Watchmaker's Atelier, 11 Binjai Park, Singapore 589823, operated by Gallant-Times Pte. Ltd. (“we”, “us”). By leaving a watch with us, buying from us or using this site, you agree to them.
Anything we agree with you in writing for a particular job or piece, such as an estimate or a consignment arrangement, takes precedence over these general terms. How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Using this website
This site tells you about the atelier and the pieces we have. We work to keep it accurate, but descriptions, photographs, prices and availability can change or contain mistakes, and nothing on the site is a binding offer. Please confirm anything important with us before relying on it.
The text, photographs and logo on this site belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. You're welcome to share links; please ask before reusing any of it.
Brand names and logos shown here, including those of the brands we service, belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the watches we work on. Their appearance does not mean those brands endorse us or are affiliated with us.
Links to WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps and other sites are there for convenience; those sites are run by others and we aren't responsible for their content.
Diagnosis and estimates
Every watch begins with a complimentary diagnosis. We explain what we find and give you an estimate free of charge, and we don't begin any work until you've approved it.
Some problems only show once a watch is opened and taken apart. If we find something that changes the estimate, we'll contact you first and carry on only with your approval.
Servicing and repairs
Parts
We use genuine parts. For vintage pieces where a part is no longer made, we may propose making one, and will do so only with your approval.
Turnaround
A routine service usually takes a few weeks. Any timing we give you is an estimate that depends on the watch, the work and how quickly parts arrive; we'll keep you updated if it changes.
Testing and water resistance
After a full service we test accuracy and water resistance. Older watches, and cases, crystals or crowns showing wear, may not reach their original water-resistance rating; we'll tell you the result and how the watch can safely be worn.
Your watch's history
Please tell us about earlier repairs, knocks or water exposure when you bring a watch in. It helps us diagnose it accurately.
Service warranty
Full services come with a 2-year service warranty from the date you collect the watch. It covers the work we carried out and the parts we fitted.
It does not cover:
- damage from impacts, accidents or misuse;
- water getting in after the crown was left open, or after the case was opened by someone else;
- normal wear to straps, bracelets, crystals and finishes;
- batteries;
- a watch that has since been opened, adjusted or repaired by anyone other than us.
If something the warranty covers goes wrong, bring the watch back to us and we'll put it right. The warranty is in addition to your rights under Singapore law.
Collection and payment
We'll let you know when your watch is ready. Payment is due on collection unless we've agreed otherwise, and we accept cash, cards and PayNow.
Please collect your watch within a reasonable time of hearing from us. If a watch is left uncollected, we'll use the contact details you gave us to reach you, so please let us know if they change.
Buying a pre-owned piece
Pieces in our shop come from our own inventory. Prices are in Singapore dollars. A piece may sell, or its price change, before the site catches up, so please confirm availability and price with us. A listing is an invitation to enquire, not an offer; a sale is agreed when we confirm it with you and payment is made.
We describe each piece's condition as accurately as we can and encourage you to see it in person before you buy. Unless we agree otherwise in writing at the time of sale, sales of pre-owned pieces are final. This does not affect your rights under Singapore law.
For some purchases the law requires us to verify the buyer's identity and keep records of the transaction. We'll ask only for what's needed.
Selling or consigning
If you'd like to sell a piece to us or consign it with us, we'll look at it first. The price, any fees, how long it is listed and how you're paid are agreed with you for each piece before we accept it.
We may ask for proof of ownership, such as a receipt, box or papers, and for identification where the law requires it. We may decline any piece.
Our responsibility
We take great care with every watch left with us, and we're responsible for loss or damage caused by our negligence while it is in our care.
We aren't responsible for faults that already existed and weren't part of the work you approved, or for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Singapore law. For valuable watches, we recommend keeping your own insurance.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page when you use our services applies. The date at the top shows when they were last revised.
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction over any dispute. If something isn't right, please talk to us first. Most things are easily put right.
